- Adding 4 ppl before the start of the second season is massively unfair to both the original five and the added four, since these four ppl would be considered as "owing to the success of the original five”
- In addition to selected points, I'm concerned for the new seiyuu. They will be under a lot of pressure from both fans and themselves to perform, act, and sing on the level of the first five members, who had a stunning debut.
- I also just like how few the number 5 is in general, having 9 feels like too much people
- I don't want the Idolm@ster syndrome to enter to LL!
- It's less about how much they're adding, even if they add only one member I will still be feeling very conflicted about it. I do think the new 4 members will do an excellent job, but I don't wish for them to join the current 5-person group.
- Thought group was fine as was
- the way this news was broken to us could have been way better and would have flourished better if it had been via the anime only instead of dumping it on us in a magazine
- Personally I have asd [Autism spectrum disorder] and hate change it’s such a big change unlike niji they slowly introduced new members this just doesn’t feel asd friendly
- love live has never had additions to a group out of nowhere (any additions have been the result of character development and was predictable), and the franchise allowing Liella to fully develop as a 5 member deal and then suddenly adding new members…it’s unheard of. i don’t hate it, but the series is definitely going a way i didn’t expect it to, and i’m not sure how to feel about it yet. “let’s see how they go about this” is what i’m thinking.
- I am a long time, 10-year love live fan. I always thought 9 was too much. I thought it with muse, aqours, and nijigaku and when they made nijigaku 12 i wasnt very excited about it. When Liella came out, and there was 5 members, i was psyched because 5 members in a group isnt so unsual and i hoped the 5 would grow an international audience moreso then it already has. But this just feels like they tagged on 4 more girls just for the tradition and for once in love live's fucking life id like for them to break tradition. They did it with niji with the 12 members and two non-full-japanese characters with non-full-japanese actresses who sing in their language and i was excited for the new changes love live would make but theyre just back to square one again. A bit upset about it.
- I like the idea of it being about how the 5 of them developed and grow as a group will feel strange with 4 more characters.
- Kinda dont like that it started as a 5 person group, did merch n lives n stuff with it n now dropped new girls. Feels like the first 5 girls weren't enough n incomplete.
- They did a poor job of characterizing the girls over the many episodes they had. I don't know much about Ren, a little about Chisato, and next to nothing about Sunny Passion. I feel they might not be able to handle more fleshing out with more or the same number of girls.
- I am excited but also concerned because I don't feel the preexisting 5 girls were developed well in the anime/ I want their group dynamics developed better rather than each girl's individual development with Kanon.
- i don’t like their designs
- The designs suck
- I’m confused why they’re adding four more members when they where making a big deal with the group being only five
- The way that the LL producers built Liella up seemed like they were going down the “lets stick to only 5 path”. People may argue that they have been thinking of adding 4 new members to make 9 from the very start, however if that was the case, their crucial and obligatory use of Chekhov’s Gun to foreshadow this addition was poor, no one, especially me, did not expect it. Most of us weren’t prepared for the change. The harmony between the original 5 is for now ruined for a cheap callback to every Love Live group having 9 members; at least in my opinion. My opinion may change if the next season executes their characters well.
- Liella theme depends a lot on the fact that they are 5 members. It feels like producers abandoned the theme totally and focused more on gaining more fans rather than try and develop what them have already. Honestly it is disappointing because Liella has so much to show yet their incompetence in developing characters led to this results. We have seen previously in other shows with 9 members how some members did not get the development they deserved despite showing so much potential ( such as Hanamaru, You, Nozomi, etc..)
